Music Is an Amazing thing

I'll admit, I'm not a competent blogger, but during these 5 AM Mornings, I Can't record my Let's Plays, so I have something I'd like to share.

I Love Music. Music is amazing, and I'm sure everyone has their interesting share of music of both Very common songs and Rare Gems. My story is rather a little special.

Like most things, I gained a deeper understanding for music when I joined Youtube in Sep. 2006 almost Five years ago, when I was 14. The Internet was a mix of things, but somehow I always managed to be oblivious to the bad things. When I got this appreciation for music, Since I didn't have an Ipod until Christmas 08, Youtube became my central hub for music.

It started out really really simple, fueled by my Pokemon Craze and several songs I thought was amazing. And I tell you, 90% of the things I favorited then was taken from Youtube, and I forgot half the songs I listened to. The survivors among them were:
  1. Things I'll never Say -- Avril Lavigne
  2. Together Forever -- Pokemon
Both are Cardcaptor Sakura (CCS) Animated Music Videos (AMVs), which is probably why they're still standing. To be truthful, I didn't care at the time what CCS was, I just liked the song being sung with a Cartoon in the background, but once my curiosity Peaked while I was in my horrible Middle School Years, I looked into watching CCS, and I watched it all. All 72 Episodes. About 3 Episodes a day on average.

Come January 2007, a related video on a Music Video that has been removed Caught my eye. The Related Video was that of Powerpuff Girls Z Episode 12. As you can figure, I started on episode 12, then went back to 1 to figure out what the heck I just watched. I liked the Powerpuff girls, and I liked this show, though not many AMVs of it stood. During this time, I favorited many videos of both English and Japanese Language. Still Standing to this day include these songs:
  1. Secret of my Hearts -- Mai Kurak
  2. Song of Jigglypuff -- Pokemon
  3. You & Me & Pokemon -- Pokemon
  4. Misty's Song -- Pokemon
  5. Catch me if you can -- Angela Via
  6. Bad Day -- Daniel Powter
  7. Pikachu I Choose You -- Pokemon
  8. It's On -- Superchick
  9. Ordinary Girl -- CCS English Dub (Don't watch the English Dub, Trust me)
  10. I'm With you -- Avril Lavigne
  11. Hot Air 2 Theme -- Nitrome
Had enough Pokemon and Pop Yet? To be honest, I like Pop, but not if it's Recent. The New stuff just doesn't suit me until it's not popular anymore. Either way, this is about the time I run into ROBLOX, a Horrible game you should never play now that you probably should've played then, when the unknown factor kept out 90% of Trolls. ROBLOX had a popular singer among the fanbase; Scatman John. I'm still a fan of Pokemon, though now I'm out of the songs and onto the Diamond & Pearl Battles. Marriland Took all his down, but some still stand, but more than anything else, I started Developing my social skills to a much better level by playing Furcadia, which introduced me to a slew of songs thanks to a dream in Furcadia Called... um... Something that started with an S, then had the words "High School". I think it was "Starwing High School". It's no longer up. Here's what Stands:
  1. Breakaway -- Kelly Clarkson
  2. Blue - Eiffle 65
  3. "Na-na-na-na-na"
  4. "Fukai Mori" (The Video Stands, the Audio was removed)
  5. Everybody Jam! -- Scatman John
  6. Motekke! Sailor Fuko! -- Lucky Star OP
  7. Skywire 2 Theme -- Nitrome
  8. Popcorn (Microwave Mix) - Boomtang Boys
In Fact, just listen to that last one, go to my Channel on youtube  Here  Select my Favorites, then Scroll down all the way, then slowly Scroll up. Listen to what you'd like, but from Popcorn onward, My Love for music exploded as I explored many different Genres.

Today, I've left the anime World and have almost left the Vocaloid And Touhou World, and am heading back toward english music, but only by the help of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Ask no questions, just go watch that show. Start with Fall Weather Friends.

Though Sensibly...

I'm anti-emulator, but I figure that If I have the game personally, doing it on an emulator wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

Camcorders to do Let's Plays

There are many aspects I've discovered in making Let's Plays On Youtube. The #1 issue I have right now is the Social Norm. The Peer Pressure that involves "Having to do this" or "Having to do that".

Allow me to elaborate. The Idea is, In the Let's Play, to be presentable, you need three things:
  1. An Adult Voice. I Have this.
  2. A Good Cause: Basically anything besides Fame.
  3. Outstanding Video Quality. In Other Words; The Best Screen Capture, No watermark, No lag. No Moving Camera, No Camcorder.

If one of them is missing, the Let's play is a lost cause to a lot of people. So here's the Camcorder Part. If you do one, Popularity and Criticism recieved will drop to an all time low, despite how good you can talk, a lot of people will stereotype your video by either a disregard or no-no nod. and refuse to watch it.

It Doesn't matter, even if the screen is crystal Clear to see.

Now, most of the time, you should NOT record with a Camcorder, in fact, even I would say to never record a video with a camcorder if Screen Capture is available. So exceptions are only good in these forms:
  1. A one-off video of you Playing a game an unusual way that can only be described by taking a camera away from the Screen.
  2. Showing the Emotions of many people playing LAM Style, or recording multiple Screens at once
  3. You are Playing a Nintendo Dual Screen (NDS, NDS Lite, NDSi, 3DS) System
See that last one? Recording a DS game is tricky in the first place. and this is where I'm stuck. A lot of the games I love are NDS Games, and if I go to an emulator to try to record it, it lags, or the controls are too wonky to use at all! It's a lose-lose.

When You Complete a video for a let's play, before you upload it, many of us ask ourselves a simple Question: "Would I Watch this if I was in another person's Shoes?". My answer was yes, I would, because I imagine that someone somewhere isn't a little Mr. Prissy and can accept a drop in quality from one department, as long as it's under control (Camera's not moving, Voice is still Clear, etc). Apparently not, but that doesn't change my answer.

I Can see my Screen. You can see what I'm doing. Even if the screen whites out from brightness for a second, you wouldn't have missed much, as long as it doesn't stay that bright for longer than 7 seconds. So I'm continuing my let's play until I find (Or someone else finds) a person that can appreciate such videos, and sit and enjoy them.

And that's that.
